It was my last full day in Venice and I had a gondola ride booked. I was sad to be leaving. This city really grew on me and I’d definitely like to return again.

I walked around my new favorite area that I’d discovered and grabbed some food at a random little café that I had seen the other day. Right as I was about to start work, the power went out.

I walked through a completely different side of Venice and I loved the area. Everything was bright and colorful, and it seemed like there were less tourists around. I also finally finalized my plans for where I’d visit next.

I visited Piazza San Marco and Basilica de San Marco, taking the water taxi to get there. It had been a fairly cold day, but I felt like I’d done a good job of exploring despite the weather.

I didn’t have any specific destination in mind and planned to simply wander around Venice, so I went to the train station and headed to the island. I ended up walking almost 6 miles, just exploring the city.

Another travel day. After four separate methods of transport, I made it to Venice. It was a long day but I was excited to be in a new city with new things to explore.

I watched Positano and the beach get smaller and smaller as we climbed the mountain to Nocelle. It was a trek, but it was worth the trip. I couldn’t have had a more perfect last full day in Positano.

I had a slight shift in my plans for the day, but this trip is not about stressing over the small things. And I’m glad that I ended up at the beach because the sunset was absolutely beautiful.
