Day 31: Berlin, Germany

After going out the night before, I woke up at around 1pm which helped me get back on track. I’m not sure why I kept waking up at 11am when I was in Vienna, but this was much better.

There was a restaurant nearby that I really wanted to try for lunch called Factory Girl so I walked over after getting ready for the day. When I got there, the waiting time was around 80 minutes so I decided I’d come back on a weekday when it was less crowded.

I headed to a place called momos which had organic veggie dumplings. You get to pick the different fillings and sauces you’d like, in addition to choosing between pan fried and steamed. I really liked the concept and the dumplings were great.

Afterwards, I took the train to the East Side Gallery to visit the Berlin Wall. I didn’t realize that it was so close to Mercedes Platz and the Mercedes-Benz Arena but we had posted about it when I worked at AEG so it was cool to see in person.

The wall contained artwork from 118 artists. I walked alongside it, taking tons of pictures and videos of all the designs. Of course, the area near the popular kiss painting was crowded with people but I got my photo quickly before continuing on my way.

I took the train closer into the city and got veggie tacos at a night market near the train station. Then I headed back to the hostel to take a quick nap before grabbing dinner at a German restaurant.

We walked back to the hostel afterwards and then I got ready to start my work shift.
